This privacy policy governs your use of the software application LocalOCR ("Application") for mobile devices, which was created by Utility Apps. The Application specializes in local optical character recognition (OCR), converting images to PDF documents, and offering optional backup integration with Google Drive.

1. Information Collection and Use

Local Data Processing (Core Functionality)

Images and Scanned Text: The Application performs all optical character recognition (OCR) and PDF generation locally on your physical device. Your source images, processed documents, and extracted text strings are stored securely within the Application's private sandboxed storage space (using a local Room database).

We do not collect, monitor, store, or transmit your document content to external servers.

Third-Party Services

The Application utilizes third-party developer services that may collect information used to identify you under their respective terms:

• Google Play Services: Used to support core Android operational framework features.
• Google Play Billing: Handles secure payment processing for the Pro Upgrade feature. We do not see or retain your credit card numbers or financial credentials.
• Google Drive API: If you explicitly enable the cloud synchronization feature, the Application requests authorization to upload your locally generated PDF files directly into your personal Google Drive account. This communication occurs strictly between your device and Google's official endpoints; no data passes through our infrastructure.

2. Device Permissions Required

To deliver its core features, the Application requests explicit access to the following device hardware and storage modules:

• Camera System: Required to capture clear photographs of text documents for immediate local OCR conversion.
• Storage / Media Access: Required to import existing image files from your device gallery for processing, and to save finalized PDF documents to your local system storage.

3. Data Retention Policy

Because your data is managed strictly offline, all application database history and documents remain on your physical device. If you uninstall the Application from your smartphone, all locally cached scan history and related operational files will be immediately and permanently deleted by the Android system framework.

4. Children’s Privacy

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. Since all operational processing is localized, we possess no technical database access to identify or audit individual user demographic profiles.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any adjustments by posting the updated Privacy Policy document text directly on this hosted URL.
